The Main Street Program is a non-profit corporation designed to revitalize and maintain the downtown courthouse square area of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County. It is affiliated with the National Trust for Historic Preservation's National Main Street Center and follows the tenants of that program. The Main Street Program capitalized on the unique character of the courthouse square and the surrounding business district with the goal of transforming it into the cultural, social, professional and retail center of Rutherford County...in essence, the hub of the community life.

"Main Street is excited to announce the new Main Street Saturday Market! Starting this summer, vendors will be on the west side of the courthouse in the square offering fresh fruit, vegetables, breads, and flowers every Saturday from 8:00-12 noon."Our vision, especially to roll out this first year, is to stick to TN grown fruits, veggies, baked goods, honey, herbs, plants, cheese, that kind of thing. Simple and downhome feel--relaxed and casual."
